A Day with "Auntie Nenna"

Bentley got super spoiled today and got to spend the day with Auntie Nenna and Uncle Robert while mom worked. As you can imagine, he didn't get any kisses, never got held, and of course took a huge nap. OR NOT! :) He was loving the attention so much he skipped his afternoon nap, well at least most of it, and his little cheeks were worn out from being kissed. He loves playing at Auntie Nenna's loft!

Here are some pictures Jenna texted me throughout the day.

Watching Ellen in my bumbo. I love Ellen! :)

Napping on Auntie's bed - for a whole 45 minutes.

Thanks for lovin on me Auntie Nenna and Uncle Robert! I can't wait to come back!

"big boy" food

After the first of the year, we go in to visit Dr. Gustafson for Bentley's 4 month check up. At that appointment Dr. will probably tell us we can start feeding Bentley baby food and rice cereal. I got some advice from some "mommy" friends that said start the rice a bit early so they get used to eating from a spoon.

We tried last week, and Bentley was not a fan. He ate about 2 scoops, both of which he spit right back out, and started screaming.

Tonight I thought I would try it again.

He did SO much better, he even laughed while I was feeding him!! He is such a little ham.

Pretty quick and we will be having to share everything on our plates. "One for me, One for you!" We can't wait. :)

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

We are soooo spoiled and so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends to share this holiday with! What a fabulous 24 hours it has been!

We started our Christmas Eve at about noon, at the Turkstras. The boys all exchanged presents and had so much fun opening them together!

Preston, Bentley & Hunter

Last night we has Christmas Eve at Mom & Vern's house with Myra, Jordan, Lauren, Gramma, Jenna and Robert. We had a wonderful meal and a great time opening presents and spending time with everyone. Bentley wasn't totally into opening presents, but he had a great time being held by everyone.
Grammy had to get alllll her kisses in before she left.

Great Grandma, Grandpa and Bentley

Grammy and Grandpa got Bentley a "Soffie the Giraffe". It is a chewy toy he can gum on to help soothe his mouth - he seems to be started to teeth a bit. He love it, as you can tell!

Daddy, Mommy AND Bentley all got new mittens for Christmas!

Bentley was wiped out by the time we got home at 10. We put him to bed and packed to come up north to do Christmas morning with Nana, Papa, Chad, Danielle & Craven this morning.

Sittin by all the presents under the tree

Opening his presents with daddy and Papa.

It's a steering wheel! He "drove" it for quite a while...Watch out daddy, the rzr will be my new favorite thing to drive soon!
Grandpa Werbig sent Bentley a Christmas package with this adorable reindeer outfit in it. He put it on and took off in the ranger with Papa and Daddy to go groom some trails. I am sure they are having a ball!

What a wonderful day we have had with our families; we have made some great memories. Thank you all for the wonderful gifts and more importantly the memories.

And the Fun Begins!

Last Tuesday Bentley and I Christmas shopped all day with Grandma, and we got ALL our shopping done! :) Now to get them all wrapped...well that is another story. Bentley is a great little shopper, he napped most of the time, and took another big nap when we got home.

Friday morning, Brandon had his annual Christmas Breakfast at work. Bentley, Craven, Papa and Daddy all had matching Dan Hoe shirts, red ones, that they all wore to breakfast. Friday was a long day for our little bug, as it started at 6:30 am, as opposed to the normal 8:00 am! But he did good. He came to work with me for a bit, got spoiled by Great Gram, and then Gramma picked him up for some more afternoon spoiling!

Friday night we went up north to have Christmas on saturday with Rosie's dad and sisters, and we came home Sunday morning to have Christmas sunday night with Vern's girls. Bentley did really well at both parties. He enjoyed the extra lovin from Auntie Jenna since he hasn't seen her in a while! :)

We have another Christmas party Wednesday night at Wade & Nancy's with Great Grandma Gloria. Santa usually pays a visit to that party - so stay tuned for pictures! :)

THREE!!

I played around with my camera today and took some 3 month pictures of Bentley. Here are few, the ones I liked the best. Isn't he the cutest? ;) I am starting to see more and more of myself in him, especially the bigger his cheeks get!
 Happy Boy!
this naughty little smirk will forever get him out of any punishment I may ever think he needs. Good thing he doesn't know that...yet! His Daddy has the same naughty little smirk, except he knows how to use it. The two of them will keep me on my toes, that is for sure, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Big Giggles!

Relaxing Weekend

We have had a wonderful relaxing weekend as a family, which is perfect before a few busy weeks coming up with Christmas.

We were playing with Bentley last night and is starting to sit up a bit on his own. He has to lean way forward to keep his balance, but he will sit for a minute. His little belly seems to get in the way cuz he grunts and groans quite a bit.

We have been celebrating Craven's first birthday all week! Hard to believe he is ONE already!! He had a great time with all his presents and he had so much fun with his cake. Now we are getting ready to start chasing him around becuase he is so close to walking!! I am sure that Uncle Brandon will have no problem helping him find trouble, once he is mobile on his own! :)

Were staying in today and snuggling up together staying warm. It's the perfect day for it.

A day of Celebrations!

A year ago today, I married the most wonderful man EVER! :) It's hard to believe it's been a year already, it went so fast! We laughed all day about all the memories and fun we had, and how much all of you made it that much more memorable! We can't wait for many more happy years together and to celebrate many more anniversaries together!

Today we also had Bentley baptized. We thought it would be kind of special to have him baptized on our anniversary, and it was! He did GREAT in church, which we were a bit nervous about considering he is sick and all. He did even better at lunch afterwards, smiling and playing with everyone. He also really enjoyed his 3.5 hour nap once we got home! :) He's such a wonderful little guy, we really are blessed.

We also celebrated our friend Preston coming home for DeVos Children's Hospital today! We can't wait to get rid of our colds and ear infections and go show him some love!!!!

We have a very busy and exciting week with Craven's first birthday party on Wednesday, and Brandon's work Christmas party on Thursday! We will keep posting pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as we did. It was great to be together with wonderful family! :)

Friday Danielle and I went to Ludington to do some Black Friday shopping. I was able to get the camera I was after after about an hour and half wait in line - but it was worth it! We also stopped at Dunham's and picked up some camp chairs for the boys. So of course, we had to try them out and take some pics with my new camera!

Bentley in his big boy camp chair
 Craven trying out the chair.
We spend the afternoon playing with the boys and relaxing. Great Grandpa VandenBrink and Sandy are coming over this afternoon to see the boys. We are excited to see them again.

Time to sign off - Bentley decided he doesn't want to nap anymore. He is smiling at us on the video monitor and telling us stories. Good thing he's cute!!!!! :)

Productive Tuesday!

What a productive day here at the Posma's! I just love days off and at home with Bentley. Especially cold windy days like today, it is great to not have to get out. Among getting many other things done today, I got our Christmas cards ordered! Our very first family Christmas cards - can you tell I am excited? :)

Last week Danielle and Chad stopped over and we had her snap a few pics for us for the Christmas cards. This is our favorite and the one we used on the cards.

We like this one too...
As always, Bentley is a happy boy today! He is getting so big and developing such a personality. Hard to believe he is almost 3 months old already! :)
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving this week and spending the weekend up north, which will include a little black friday shopping in Ludington! :)

A day with the boys!

Bentley & I spent most of our day with our friend, Hunter, today! His mom and dad wanted to go up to DeVos to see Preston so we spent the day playing together. Both boys napped for a few hours, so I had a bit of chance to relax. We played at Hunter's house for a while and then came here. Hunter played with all of Bentley's trucks - he wanted to make sure they were in perfect working order for Bentley, of course. We got out some "dirt" (pennies) and made a road and dug some "holes." He was showing me how to load the dump trucks and where to dump the pennies. I was pretty proud of the road we built, but have to admit, the grade would not have passed Brandon's approval. :) We had fun anyway.

Hunter also decided he wanted to "hunt for deer" around our living room. The only "deer" he shot (with his fake gun made out of a bolt and a golf tee) was Jayda...but he was pretty proud. He ran over to me and said "I got one, I got one, I shot her tail!"

Preston was moved to DeVos Children's Hospital this morning, and Sarah was discharged to come home. Chase & Sarah will make the long trip back and forth to Grand Rapids until he improves enough to come home, so please continue to pray for much needed rest and patience as they will have a busy next few weeks. Preston is on a ventilator now and Sarah said they will slowly start to turn the oxygen down and get him breathing more and more on his own. Please also pray that this process goes quickly for them so they can take their little bundle home. :) I know we aren't the only ones who can't wait to meet him!

We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving and spending time with our families this coming week. We have so much to be thankful for!

Bittersweet Excitement

We are so excited to welcome our neighbor and friend, Preston James Turkstra, into the world! He was born at 3 o clock this morning, at a healthy 7 pounds 9 ounces. Bentley is so excited to have another little friend to play with as they grow up together!
Preston is not breathing on his own right now, so we are praying, and are asking for your prayers, that his lungs will continue to develop and heal quickly so he can come home to Mom, Dad and Big Brother Hunter. We are waiting to hear more from Chase and Sarah as far as if he will have to go DeVos Children's Hospital. Hunter had some lung issues at birth as well so this seems all to farmiliar to them, but still doesnt make it any easier.

We will try to keep updates as we can, but please pray in the meantime.

Getting ready for Santa!

It's Christmas time at the Posma's! I put up our tree today! :)
Brandon thinks its a bit too early, but I have been wanting to put it up since Halloween, so I couldn't hardly wait any longer. I even bought our first two christmas presents today, so pretty quick there will even be presents under the tree! Let's hope Jayda is over eating all the bows off them this year.

I had a big helper, of course. :)

Double Trouble

Brandon is quite the kid, at heart, and is always online looking at new "toys" or trucks he thinks he might like. Well he recently stumbled across this remote control truck that looks real - like it has shocks and suspension and the whole nine yards. I keep kindly reminding him that Christmas is just around the corner, so maybe he should wait and Santa will bring him one. Well that didn't fool him. He decided to have Bentley come sit on his lap while he was watching videos of these trucks rock climbing on YouTube. Bentley was totally fixed on the computer. I mean, totally. He was watching the trucks move across the screen and cooing and laughing. Guess what I hear next...
"Babe, even Bentley wants one, see, we gotta order one we can't wait till Christmas!"

Do you think I ever stand a chance to saying NO to more trucks or toys? And to think Bentley is only 2 months old..... :)

Happy Birthday Auntie Jenna!

What a perfect Saturday to stay at home, inside, snuggled up with two of my favorite guys! And I did just that! :) Bentley is having a much better day today, his legs seem to be alot less sore and he is much happier. We are glad to have our happy baby back!

Tonight we celebrated Auntie Jenna's 23rd birthday over some fondue. We had alot of fun, its always fun to fondue and socialize, and good to have everyone together for dinner.

We will try and update again soon. I am working 3 days this week so free time is becoming very precious! :)

2 Month Checkup

We went to see Dr. Gustafson this morning for Bentley's 2 month well baby check up. He now weighs 12 pounds, 5 ounces and is 24'' long. Dr. Gustafson was very please with his growth - He said "I would ask how his eating habits are but I can already tell he is doing just fine!" He is in the 50th percentile for both height and weight. Everything else checked out great, he is a healthy little guy!
He had to get 3 shots today as part of the checkup. The nurses do 2 at one time, in his thighs, and then the third. I am not sure he felt the 3rd one because he was so upset. It took a minute to get him calmed down, but he did. He's been pretty fussy all afternoon and Grandma finally got him rocked to sleep.

We are going to celebrate Auntie Jenna's birthday tomorrow night, we are very excited. Other than that we don't have many weekend plans. We are hoping to get our happy smiley baby back sooner than later!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Dodgeball Tuesday

It's that time of year again...Brandon and the guys start dodgeball again tonight!
They play at 9:15 so Bentley and I will probably have to sit this one out, but we can't wait to go to the next one! Stay tuned for pictures of dodgeball because Bentley will have lots of friends and cousins to play with this year.

Bentley is loving having Grandma and Grandpa Slagh home and he has been spending Monday and Wednesday with Grandma while mommy works. He really doesn't like it there, I mean, he never gets held and they clearly don't spoil him at all! :) Just kidding G&G!!! He loves it there, he said.

We had lunch with Great Grandpa Essenburg and Grandma Slagh today and then of course did some shopping with Grandma. I bought Bentley a new playmat becuase, well, for no good reason other than I thought he needed MORE toys! He loves it so far, he has been talking and laughing under it like crazy!

Time to get dinner ready for when Daddy gets home! :)

Happy Halloween From Bentley

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is much more fun when we have a little one to enjoy it with, although I am not sure Bentley agrees. He has had his fair share of Halloween activity, and its a good thing he is so young yet because I am not sure I will get away with stuffing him in a pumpkin for the sake of cute pictures, next year. Good thing he is a trooper like his daddy!

We started our halloween fun a week or so ago, with a pumpkin painting party at our friend Hunter's house. I slept the whole time but it was fun to watch Hunter and Craven paint their pumpkins.
Painting got messy so the big boys had thier shirts off. This was the best group shot we could get.
Really Mom? You stuff me in this cold gooey pumpkin and expect a smile??

RAWWWWWWRRRRR! Arent I the cutest lion you've ever seen???
On Friday I went trick or treating at Salon Cheveux to see Auntie Jenna.
Then we stopped at Graphix to see Great Grandma, Aunt Marcia and Tami!
On Saturday Mom and Aunt Danielle said they HAD to go to tip toes (we really did you know!) so we went and trick or treated by Aunt Tiffany. I was sleeping again, I'm not much of a shopper, but Cousin Craven got his face painted by a clown.
On Saturday night we trick or treated to Great Grandpa Posma and Judy's house. They were excited to see us!
Then we stopped at Aunt Brittany & Uncle Nick's house (brandon's cousin) and my cousins Craven and Wesleigh were there! Here's our best attempt at cooperating for a group photo.
One last picture - our first Family Halloween!!!
Next year will be more fun when I can actually maybe eat some of the candy people give me. For now mom and dad sure have been enjoying it!! Hope you liked my pictures. I'm going to take a nap now, I have a big day at work tomorrow!!!

Love, Bentley (& mom & dad)
