Evelyn turns two!

Pretty Baby -
So hard to believe you are TWO already, then again we can't really imagine our life without you!
You are sugar, spice, and everything sassy; all.the.time.
we wouldn't have it any other way.
you are loud but shy, sweet but bossy, always moving but love to snuggle.
you love trucks and you love makeup.
the opposite ends of all spectrums, at the same time, most times.
your emotions are big, but so is your love.

you are starting to talk and form sentences. exciting for us since we feel like you were a late talker compared to your brothers. you are sleeping about 12 hours at night yet, still napping in the afternoons.

putting this the best way i can: you are a tank. 100% solid chubba bubba. its the cutest thing ever and while I know you will change and grow, i sure am enjoying smooching all your chub and rolls. You are in some 3T even already (gotta keep that belly covered!)

Because of leaving two days after your birthday for our trip, we skimped this year, though we know you still felt loved!
we celebrated with G&G Slagh for you, Sawyer and Jett. You actually had fun opening presents this year!
not so sure about the candles, but loved the cupcake!
On your actual birthday we had to run to Sam's Club, so your brothers let you help pick out your gift. Of course, it was a truck, with a horse trailer. You LOVE trucks, and everyone laughed when I suggested them for gifts for you.
We also went to Gramma & Grampas for lunch to celebrate (again because of the trip), where you got another truck toy (littlest pet shop) and your brothers got their Christmas presents early since they would need them for the flight.
So much fun celebrating you not only for your birthday but every day! You sure light up our lives, princess! We love you to the moon and back!

thanksgiving 2016

We spent a wonderful thanksgiving weekend up north with Brandon's family. We always love when we can get up there and spend time together and be outside!
Our boys spent most of their days outside on their quads. :)
they did stop for a few "undie party breaks" and an occasional snack
Evie wanted to ride more than she actually did, but she spent about 99% of the weekend in a helmet anyway!
Early saturday morning I came down with the stomach flu, so we came home which was a good thing because every 48 hours after that it claimed another one of us. Harrison was the last to get it and actually threw up at school. Talk about mom guilt! We had a great weekend despite being sick and were reminded just how much we have to be thankful for EACH DAY!
I always love how the kids answer these, I was all smiles to find this on Harry's classroom door. :)

Just like that its the holiday season! While we have been super busy we are excited for this time of year, but for now heres a recap of our fall...

Bentley started Tae Kwon Do...
we had fun carving pumpkins and the kids actually all gutted their this year!
we had a few later than normal nights so we could see daddy, busy was an understatement for him this fall, making for some long days for all of us.
enjoying a sunday afternoon ride from our sweet neighbor Zoe
When you havent seen daddy for 5 days...and then he tries to say bye....
first every DIY haircut in the posma household. he did cry, I could have....
a beach day, the first weekend in november, cant beat it!
cleaning out the pond the third week in november, getting our fishy friend ready for winter...if it ever comes!

Halloween 2016

Better late than never, right? yikes!

the weather for Halloween was ah-mazing this year! I took the kids to the store and let them pick what they wanted to be...the boys picked "army men" costumes and Evie picked the most glitter filled tinkerbell costume! :)
We trick or treated the weekend before Downtown Holland, and the kids did great! They used their manners, waited their turns and this momma left BEAMING with pride because of their behavior!
On monday Bentley had a parade at his school, so I left work early and went to see him, with his biggest fan, Harry in tow! :)
Monday night we trick or treated in our old neighborhood with friends. Since brandon worked late I chose to go with a group to have the extra hands, which worked out great.
Harry and his buddy "Harry" haha
Brooklyn, Hunter and Bentley
Another fun year in the books, without a sugar overload! Can't beat that!

22 months

Girlfriend -
Another month come and gone, another month closer to TWO! So crazy, so hard to believe sometimes, yet this month it seems like you lost all.the.baby.
The biggest indication: your "pais" is gone.
Thats right, we are pacifier-free in the Posma home now!
You and I were shopping Target together one day when you started this "hilarious" little game of drop-the-pais. After picking it up one time too many, I told you that if you dropped it again, i was going to leave it there. Drop it you did, and I kept right on a walking. I seem so tough, but let me tell you I was inwardly terrified. You were OBSESSED.
Come nap time, I laid you down, you asked for your "pais" and I told you it was at Target, kissed you good night and tucked you in. THREE HOURS LATER, i found this:
Its been nearly a full week as I type this and you are adjusting just fine. Just like an old pro. You woke up a couple times the first few nights but we gently reminded you it was at Target, tucked you back in, and you dozed back off. Now, you aren't even waking anymore. What you are doing is jabbering nonstop and eating like champ! I guess I didnt realize how much that darn little piece of plastic curbed your appetite!
Besides ditching the paci, we know our baby is disappearing because you are talking more. You have opinions (strong ones) about how you feel, what you think and what you want. You are so bold, and loud, in all aspects of your emotions right now. Its fun to watch, though trying at times. The pic below describes you best: naughty and dirty, topped off with an angelic smile. You sure keep us on our toes.
Its been a super busy month for us, especially Daddy. You dont get to see him always before bed, so you have been clinging to your brothers non stop. You have to do everything they do, say everything they say, try everything they try and eat everything they eat. Its pretty adorable, most of the time, but it sure is alot of work at times too! Your favorite time of the day is when we get them both from school. You have the biggest smiles and the loudest squeals.

Pretty crazy to think in just about 6 weeks you will be TWO! But we also cannot wait to watch you learn and grow. We couldn't love you more, princess. And that, you are!

Harry goes to preschool

This past week was Harrison's first day of Preschool.
He is going to go FOUR half days this year!
The first week he was also "star helper" so I got to stay and be in the classroom with him!
We had so much fun learning and exploring together. He chose to read some books in the loft...
&& build some towers out of blocks! He really takes pride in his building!
We are looking forward to a great year, we cannot wait to watch him learn and grow, academically but also in his FAITH!

21 months

Girlfriend -
You change by the minute. Second, almost. And your personality, words and emotions are larger than life these days. We are having too much fun with you, and are all too often reminded there is hardly any baby left in your little mind and body anymore.
You are SO happy, all the time. You are also SO dramatic, a lot. You're learning all the fun "tricks" and ways to get attention, very quickly, and you aren't afraid to use them.
You love shoes. In fact, you sleep with yours on. You asked to wear them in the bathtub last night even. And by shoes, I mean crocs. I can't wait for snow just so those things can disappear. ;)
Keeping up with your brothers is a must, and with both of them starting school this month you've been a little lost. But you sure love the time do you get with them, and they are giving you more attention now probably than they ever have.
You also love to sing and dance. Daddy thinks you'll be a performer of sorts, someday.
Life has been pretty crazy so I'm lacking on pics, but I'll leave this adorable video here instead.
It's hard to believe you'll be two in no time, but we are loving watching you learn, grow and change. You are a dear blessing to us princess, and we couldn't love you more!

Bentley turns 6

the second day of school was Bentleys 6th Birthday // big week for our big dude!
before school started and over the long weekend, Gma & Gpa took him shopping for some new shoes that he wanted for school. He picked out camoflauge ones, of course! ;)

On his birthday we had pancakes with a candle in it. We had to even wake up his brother and sister for them to sing. ;)
I wrote a note for his lunch and he opened his present before school. he later told me he loved the note but he couldn't read it! LOL

We went out for a special dinner with Nana and Papa + Grampa and Gramma to "china", which is his favorite. We all ate way too much and had so much fun! :)
Happy Birthday sweet boy - we love you so much!!

Bentley goes to kindergarten

Last week our biggest boy started Kindergarten.
He was so excited, and a little nervous too!

Reflecting now, I see that the whole week was a lot harder for ME than it was for HIM. He was a champ, and was even up early for two days in a row, because he was so excited!

He wanted to ride the bus but we had a glitch with his bus tags, so I brought him the first morning. He was excited to have a locker, too!

The second day he started riding the bus. We all love walking a few doors down twice a day to the bus stop, and Harrison gets SO excited to greet his buddy every afternoon! :)

We spent the first week staring at each other because we were all a little lost without our B, but we are finding a new "norm" and live for the time we get to see him off the bus! We are excited for a great year for Bentley and we cannot wait to watch him grow this year.

tigers game

Last week we were blessed with an opportunity to spend the day at Comerica Park, watching a tigers game. None of us had ever been, so we were pretty excited!

We had a fun ride there in Papa's bus, and spending a WHOLE day during the week with Daddy was a huge bonus too!

The park itself is so cool, we had fun walking around, and snapping tourist pics!
Nana, Papa, Vienings and Posmas! So many memories!
We had an awesome view with our suite right off third base!
Papa and his boys
The littles enjoyed some cartoons when they got bored mid game in the afternoon. Sitting next to all the food was pretty cool, too! ;)
my handsome and i!
Most of our group...
The reason for our trip was to celebrate Great Grandpa turning 81. He requested a Tigers game, so we celebrated with FOUR generations!
It was so much fun and so many memories made, a day our boys will talk about for a while, for sure!
Miss Evie stayed home and hung out with her favorites, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Chase. We are so blessed by awesome friends who help with our little princess!
