Clarks antics 2015

Clark came back to visit us again this year...the boys have so much fun finding him in the morning to see what hes been "up to"! I don't use the whole 'behave or else' story with our elf, he is around to enjoy the holidays with us, have fun AND remember the real meaning. Here are some things he did this season...
the morning he came back
he brought a book and a note about remembering to give this season also
minion bananas
a present for evelyn on her birthday
our tree was up for about 10 days before I finally put lights on it. we had a big decorating party, and then clark did too while we were all asleep ;)
he even flew to papa's house one night to help him finish building a lego helicopter that the boys started but ran out of time to finish. that clark, he sure is busy!
Harry's "willy scawy dwagon" trapped clark one night...thank goodness we were able to rescue him!
the night after he was trapped by the dragon we found him wayyyyyy up high on the wall, riding the dragons back! we are so glad they became friends!
having a tea party with one of Evie's birthday presents

Clark came back with a letter to remind us what Christmas is all about, after a tough week of not listening and "I WANT!...". The boys handled giving away their Christmas candy pretty well...
The boys got watches for Christmas from Brandon's parents, and they had cool little lights on them. Naturally they preferred the lights over going to bed, so after taking the watches away, and some tears, they awoke to find clark keeping them safe! ;)
I have seen this one on pinterest for years and wanted to do it SO bad - thanks to Nana & Papa for getting some action heroes for the boys, I finally could!!! :) The boys thought it was hilarious, too!

Christmas {eve+day} 2015

We spent Christmas Eve with my family, having dinner and opening presents.

We scaled our gift part of Christmas way back this year, and it turned out to be one of our best Christmases yet! Everyone got ONE thing they really loved, and we all got to focus on being together...which is what all us adults wanted, and love!

Grampa and Gramma with all the troops in their Christmas Jams! :) Love our jammy tradition.
Evelyn was up at 7 am on Christmas morning, so we got right into stockings and gifts with just the five of us. Again, I scaled way back...stocking had small things that were needed, and everyone got one thing they needed and one thing they wanted under the tree. Besides Evie. She got just a Vera bag...gotta start her young! ;)
The boys both made us ornaments at school...our favorite gifts for sure! We spent all Christmas day at home relaxing together, playing together and just being. It was truly perfect!

Posma Family Christmas 2015

We celebrated Christmas this past weekend with Brandon's family up north. Santa came before dinner and delivered presents to the kids...it was so fun to see their reactions!

of course they all got spoiled - thanks Nana and Papa... and we had a fun night putting gifts together.
Evelyn even had fun unwrapping her gifts, she squealed and clapped at each one!
A quick pic with Santa before he was off to change and come back for dinner to the next house ;)

We gifted mom and dad some pictures of our kids and our families to help decorate their new place. it was so special to see their excitement and tears of joy!
Sunday we had breakfast with Bentley and his power ranger before packing up to head home. We have the next to weeks off school and are looking forward to spending some time together doing some fun things!

Visiting Santa..2015

We had a fun weekend getting into the Christmas spirit and visiting Santa. It's so hard to believe Christmas is so close with this warm weather!

We took advantage of the warm and headed Downtown Zeeland to see the reindeer, horse and carriage rides and visit Santa.
This was the boys first year going to see Santa...I knew Bentley would do fine but wasn't sure about Harrison or Evelyn. Needless to say, they all did great! The boys even used their manners when telling the big guy what they would like for Christmas!
I dressed Evie up in her Christmas outfit from Gramma, thinking I could dress the boys up too and we would have a cute picture with Santa. Bentley obliged, as you can tell, Harrison did not. He was NOT going to go "to town" without his vest on, so our Santa picture was a snapshot of our true life; our reality! I couldn't love it more!
I was able to get some cute pics of Evelyn by the tree, so that will have to do, for now! ;)
Saturday we went downtown Holland with Britt and the kids, to see Santa again. The boys asked for the same thing for Christmas, which slightly surprised me - I figured they would ask for something else! :)
We have one more week of school before Christmas break and we've already compiled a list of things we would like to do together during break. We can't wait! :)

Evelyn 12 month checkup

Since I already did your one year post, I wanted to record your one year stats.
You were 23.13 pounds, 31" long. This puts you in the 93rd percentile for weight and 96th percentile for height. Big girl! :)
You were a trooper for your imms...but took a super big nap after. I wish I could have jumped in that crib and snuggled you for a while!

ONE year old {ebp}

Evelyn Beth,
This week you turned ONE. Just over a whole year ago you were still to become a part of our family, yet we can't hardly remember what our family was like before you were in it. We are so thankful that God has given us you, and we look forward to celebrating your birth for many years to come.
You are a total girl: sugar and spice, and (most) everything nice. You are cranking up the drama dial, quickly, and we can't help but laugh {for now}. You have an intense love for cell phones and the house phone, and throw tantrums when they are taken from you. Other than that, you don't complain about much. You love to play and be chased by your brothers, be tickled by daddy and be held and talked to by mommy. You are very good at spreading your love around // we all have a special place in your heart and its so fun to see!
You are starting to talk, and point to things, and grunt and groan when you want something. You say mama, dada, Nana and oh. Since most whimpers result in your every need being immediately met (thanks brothers) you haven't been forced to communicate much yet.
Or move much, yet. You are still crawling and will pull yourself to standing, sometimes take a few steps along the furniture, but you are not walking...and aren't really "close" to walking. I am totally okay with this though. You are busy enough just crawling!

You are wearing 12-18 month clothes and size 5 diapers. You have 5 teeth now and are always working on more. We are weaning you off the bottle and onto whole milk, which is going quite well. You sleep 10ish hours at night and take one to two naps a day depending on your brothers' schedules.
About the only thing that upsets you is strange faces. You cry when people you don't know hold or talk to you - so naturally you cried at your one year photo shoot. It made for a super adorable cake smash pic though! :)
We are so proud of the little love you are becoming, and we cannot wait to see the future God has in store for you. We know that you are going to live life to the fullest and let your light shine in this dark world and we are so grateful God picked us to join you on this journey! We love you so much, sweet girl!!

Evelyn's FIRST birthday {party}

The first nine days of December are the craziest and busiest of the entire year, for us. December 4 is Jettson's birthday, December 5 is our anniversary, December 6 is Sawyer's birthday, December 8 is Craven's birthday and December 9 we celebrate Evelyns birth!
Since its also a busy time with the holidays, we had Evelyn's first birthday party this past weekend with Jett and Sawyer.
Three birds...one stone! ;)
We had a perfect group of close family and friends and the kids had so much fun opening presents together. Evelyn hardly got to open any presents without help, but she did manage to do a few herself!
She got so many great gifts, but the baby doll and stroller was a hit, for sure!
She also loved having an audience for her cake smash...and smash she did! She was covered, and even smeared some in her hair at the end,
A quick tubby in Gramma's sink did just the trick to getting her clean before heading home!
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our baby girl with - we can hardly believe how fast the last year has gone!!! We can't wait to spend a special day with our girl on Wednesday, her actual birthday!
