weekend{{rewind}}

we had a very relaxing and fun weekend together as a family - something we really needed.

 

friday night we went to fun night at zcs. the boys got to play a lot of un games and get a little face painting done! :)

saturday we spent 90% of our day outdoors.

 

i even spent some time in the sun while the boys napped. so wonderful to feel the sun after we've been waiting so long for it.

we raced daddy's rc car...the boys love this!

and when we came in for dinner...this happened.

hopefully he doesnt quit his day job... ;)

we relaxed saturday night and watched movies together.

after church lunch and naps on sunday we

all dressed up for church sunday! :)

we had lunch, took naps and then headed north to muskegon and spent some time walking around mona lake, where daddy happens to be dredging. this is one of our favorite things to do as a family - walk jobsites. its such a learning experience for us all!

and its always a great reminder of how beautiful God's creation is. Lake Michigan is just breaktaking, every time I see it. Something us west michiganders often take for granted.

my three greatest blessings.

we had a great weekend together as a family. we are looking forward to summer time so we can spend more time together and make more memories! :)

Friday Favorites

we spent a lot of time with family this week, which is always a favorite.

Just wanted to record a few things for keepsake reasons for the boys. :)

 

Bentley:

-You said your first prayer, on your own this month.

"God is great, God is good, Let us thank him for this food."

-You mind your manners VERY well - always saying Please and Thank you, or No Thank You.

-You do not like to share. :S

-You love to say, "You know what? I love you!" to anyone. We thank Papa everyday for saying this to you since the day you were born.

-Your imagination is wild. Everyday you say "i am just like.." and pick a truck, animal, person, anything you can think of.

-You love to play pretend with your toys, and build, and work on your own "jobsites."
-Speaking of playing pretend, you think my high heels are boats and you play with them constantly.
-You don't hardly go anywhere without your "green froggy boots!"
-You just survived your first trip to the dentist, and you were a total trooper. We are SO proud!
-Right now, you call everything yours. For example, you say "my mommy, my daddy, my harry, my grampa." Its very sweet and we love that you are starting to understand possession.
-You take bites of dinner "like a big crane" and you ask daddy every night at bedtime to lift you in bed "like a big crane".
 

 

Harrison:

-You have mastered the fake cry, and made it sound totally authentic.

-You love to climb the stairs - you think you're being naughty.

-You eat anything we put in front of you. ANYTHING

-We are pretty sure you say truck. It's a hard "tuuuh" sound followed by a slight pause...and then a "ckkkk". Tuuuh....ckkkk.
-You are cutting some teeth and they have been a HUGE pain for you. You are just not your normal smiley self right now.
-You love to play hide and seek and be chased/or chase your brother around the house.
-You copy anything you can that your big brother does. It's very sweet.
-On the other hand, you are what we call our "silent killer". You are full of the dickens, and quiet about it. We are finding we blame your big brother for a lot of things you instigate.
-You love to wake up your big brother, and get the most excited when you guys see each other for the first time in the morning, and after naps.

 

weekend{{rewind}}

some fun things took place this weekend for our little guys.

and we were able to get out with some friends for a date night as well.

 

Friday night we had "boys night in" and enjoyed some snacks and cartoons.

&& then - this little boys world became entirely complete.

PAPA CAME HOME!!!

saturday we slept in, snuggled, had lunch with g&g and then stopped to visit daddy on our weekly saturday jobsite tour.

bentley was SO excited that daddy was in the digger, on the big pile!

Saturday night we headed downtown with some friends for dinner and some groove walking :)

the boys hung out with their favorite babysitter and her boyfriend -- who even took them out for ice cream. can you say spoiled?

saturday night, well actually early sunday morning, bentley woke up with the flu.

i am over the flu.

i feel like we have had it alllll winter long. :(

needless to say we got lots of snuggles in, kept a little toast down, and watched lots of movies and cartoons! I was not complaining about all the loving he was giving out.

sunday night we stayed in, ordered pizza (which is usually what B asks for when he is on the mend - so i didnt hesitate to give it to him, and i should have. poor boy didn't keep in down so well this time) and we soaked up more snuggles.

So far everyone else is in the clear -- i kept bentley quarantined to our bedroom to try and save little brother the illness.

needless to say our monday has consisted of lots and lots of cleaning and laundry - and we have spent most of the morning outside trying to flush these ickies out with fresh air!

First Dentist Visit [[Bentley]]

Bentley had his first dentist visit this week. When we walked in the lobby and got done checking in, he told me he was ready to leave. Oh great! :S

We hardly had to wait for the hygienist to come get us (thank goodness), and once he got in the cool chair that moved all over, he was good to go!



He wasn't so sure about the whole "say ahhhh" thing - so I asked him if he could ROAR like a lion and try to scare the hygienist.

This worked like a charm! :)

the vacuum sucker thingy was his favorite.

he wouldn't let it go.

he did great for his cleaning and exam, and his mouth checked out all clean and healthy! :)

He even got to pick out a new lightning mcqueen toothbrush!

when we got in the car he asked if we could go back to the dentist tomorrow. not quite that soon buddy, but in 6 months we can! :)

Weekend[[rewind]]

Another busy weekend in the books, hard to believe we are creeping up on the month of may already.

Friday night we went out for dinner to Logans.

Kind of a treat for the boys since we dont do this much anymore.

Saturday we went to day of the young child with Turkstras. The boys has SO much fun and got to see and do some really neat things!

the critter barn was even there, and bentley stayed busy excavating the woodchips in the baby chick pen. big surprise.

G&G Slagh arrived home from Florida late friday so we ran over there saturday after hitting cityside :: our toddler is one happy little boy!

Needless to say, we are on G&G overload...we've pretty much been at their house since they got home.
