QCW field trip!

I accompanied Bentley on a fun and unique field trip last week! We visited the car wash in town, that happen to be owned by our family. It's a place we frequent often but we had such a fun day learning new things! We started upstairs where we could see the entire wash with a birds eye view, from inside! :) Pretty neat!

Benji (who I worked with many years ago at another location) spent some time explaining to the boys how things worked. Pretty intriguing for a group of 5 year old boys!

Then the fun part: Benji took us into the wash and let us touch things! Being wash club members we are in the wash often, but not like this! ;) The boys thought it was super cool to touch the brushes and soap, and we even stood back and watched some cars come through.

This location has a Tim Horton's and while we stop there on the weekly, if not more, we have never been behind the counter and got to make our own donuts! Bentley had a great time doing this and made sure to add some extra chocolate to his :)

We enjoyed a snack after a tour of the rest of the building. We checked out the window where cars pay, too, and we got to see a police man come through in his cop car. So exciting!

Thanks to QCW and our family for having us - Bentley is still talking about how much fun he had!

16 months

Princess,
Another month as come and gone and you keep changing by the minute!
Its safe to officially say you are a walker now. You still crawl sometimes when you have lots of ground to cover or need to be quick to keep up, but you are walking! and you are picking up speed by the day. its fun to watch you, and you are pretty proud of yourself, sometimes getting too excited and crashing. I am so excited that you are walking going into summer because a) your clothes will stay cleaner, b) dresses are much cuter on a walking girl than a crawling one and c) i wont have to carry you as much, but its also a sure sign your baby-ness is fading faaaaaaast. be still my heart.
you are also still in your "on" phase. everything has to go ON your little body, mostly your head. You have a serious hat fetish...winter hats, baseball hats, hard hats..daddy's dirty work hats, you don't much care, as long as its on! You also wore these goofy goggles almost everyday in FL at didn't mind that they fogged up, or that you hardly swam so they weren't even necessary. I can already tell accessories are going to be a must for you, sweet thing!

You are super sassy and outspoken, as much as one can be when they're vocabulary is minimal. We pretty much always know what you're feeling. ;) You are starting to talk a bit more, but still not a lot. You love to smile, wave and say HI to anyone you pass. Its pretty adorable.
You love the bath and are terrified to the point of tears, of the shower. We learned this on our FL trip and now you even cry when someone else takes a shower. ha.
You love to go on walks, wagon rides and love to "drive" anything that you can get your little hands on. You also make appropriate motor noises now, depending on the vehicle. ;)
We can't wait to watch you grow this summer, and for many years to come. We love you so much beauty and we thank God for you everyday! :)

sb part two and a half

Saturday morning we headed over to Nana & Papa's for a few more days before coming home. It is so nice that our parents are so close and we got to spend time with all of them!
Papa and the kids wasted NO time getting all the toys out! :)

Bentley learned how to drive the segway this year. He was so great at controlling it, stopping and even backing up!
my 3 monkeys
Sunday we headed to Legoland for the day! The boys had been once before, but again were pretty little and didn't remember much. This time was really fun for them!
One of our main reasons for going was for them to complete the Ford Driving School (2-3 laps around the track) to get their driver's license! They did it, and they were SO proud!

The Duplo Village was new since we were there last too, and was a big hit. Of course they couldn't resist a tractor ride!
We took them on one roller coaster...it was a pretty small one, we felt was age appropriate.
Clearly they didn't know what they were in for, as they were both terrified, but I will cherish this picture forever! I still can't look at it without laughing!
We spent Monday packing up around the house and bus before our big ride home!
And I was able to catch a gecko for them...yes, I used my hands, but I had a sock on them because I was too afraid for it to touch my skin! haha
Evelyn practiced up her "driving" skills to help Papa get home! ;)
Tuesday morning we headed out in the bus to come home. We had an awesome two day drive and the kids did great! Nothing beats enjoying breakfast with a view of the mountains!
Another memorable trip for sure! Thanks Nana & Papa and G&G Slagh for having us!
We love you all!

sb part two

Wednesday morning the kids and I headed to the airport to catch a flight to Florida! The boys dont remember flying last time since they were so little, so they were pretty excited!
We had one row, and E sat on my lap. They all did great the whole flight!
Evie even sat like a big girl for a bit and played the iPad with her biggest brother!
We landed and G&G Slagh were there to pick us up! We HAD to get straight in the pool, per the boys

Evie girl even decided to get in fully clothes one morning ;)
She was equally excited to show off her new suit though!
We spent every waking minute of every day there in the pool, literally. The kids were so content and the weather couldn't have been better!
E had an obsession with having goggles on. Every.Single.Day. It was pretty hilarious!
We spent our evenings snuggled up after dinner, something all of them had missed over the winter!
The boys were AWESOME with their swimming skills they have learned from Miss Julie. Especially Bentley! He even swam in the "deep parts!"

Evie could walk around the wading end in this boat, it worked out just perfect!
We enjoyed a trip for ice cream on our last night, before we started another adventure with Nana & Papa for a few days!

sb part one

Our spring Break this year got a bit of a later start, but we enjoyed a few lazy days at home not having to rush out the door to school! Miss thang is continuing her love for "wearing" things and donned a nice undie hat while I cleaned one morning.
We got some snow (yuck, right?) but the boys had a blast playing in it! Thank goodness it melted as quick as it came.
The boys also had dentist apppointments, in which they both were rewarded for no cavities! YAY!

We spent the early part of spring break week getting ready to head to Florida!
