{weekend/rewind} celebration style

our week was quiet yet unexpected. in many ways. yet we had a fun weekend of celebrations planned.

we had planned to go out friday night with some friends and have Casey come babysit. She was very good friends with the Post kid who was killed in the car accident last weekend and ended up having his funeral.
It actually worked out fine since she was really struggling with the loss and probably didn't have the energy to hang with our monkeys.
Because her birthday is sunday, the boys had a party planned for their friday night with her - so we just made a few adjustments when the plans changed.

We baked cupcakes thursday night for her, as planned.
I let the boys do allll the frosting and decorating - most of which they ate.
these were their final masterpieces.
Friday just before lunch time we buzzed into Zeeland to the doctors office that Casey works at to deliver their prized cupcakes. She was so suprised and so happy to see them!
This weather is just killer. Like literally, it might be the death of me -- where is spring???
So the boys and I had a Frozen movie marathon Friday and enjoyed lunch picnic style in the living room. I even treated them to pop! :)
The boys spent their friday night hanging with cousin Hannah, while we when out with friends as planned to celebrate Nick's 29th birthday.
i just love this man.
more and more every day.
We spent saturday enjoying the gorgeous weather outside. The boys had big smiles and dirty faces playing in all the mud in the yard from the snow melt!
Sunday we went to church and then headed off to celebrate Miss Wesleigh's 4th birthday with some bowling, arcade games and some cake.
the boys fell in love with this snowmobile simulator game. i think we played it five times!
and the racecar game. anything with a steering wheel works for this dude.
We found the next bowler of the Essen family - be proud Auntie Marcia, it looks like Bentley is going to follow your footsteps! :) He couldn't get enough, he hardly gave anyone else a chance to throw a ball, let alone wait for the sweeper to go up and down! He even got a strike!
Kissing the birthday girl! Muah!
We spent Sunday afternoon relaxing together and enjoying the weather. It sure was a gorgeous weekend.
This morning was Bentleys last day of school before spring break - so cheers to a lack of routine, {hopefully} warm weather, and some extra fun activities while we have the time! :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoys a wonderful week as well! xo

{weekend/rewind}

we had a perfect weekend of busy and calm. I love weekends!
we took full advantage of the sun on friday and took a gator ride/run around the neighborhood. the boys have been dying to get back in their ride and they grinned from ear to ear the entire ride!
Friday night we went to a wildgame dinner and the fish and game club with some friends. its always a fun night of laughs, eating some unique food {this year I tried gator and elk!} and winning some prizes. They had a local falconer this year so I jumped at the chance to hold one of his birds!
they are gorgeous, and quite amazing animals!
the boys had a pizza party and movie night with Robert, Nenn and beans while we were gone. The boys had a great time and didn't wanna come home. we are so blessed with wonderful family!

Saturday afternoon I headed to celebrate a dear friend and her princess that will arrive in June.
It was so great to celebrate with some great friends I don't often see, and to rub a pregnant belly! ;)
I finally caved and bought Frozen Saturday - facebook and instagram had me convinced i was the ONLY mom left on this earth who hadn't bought it!
Of course, we had to see what the craze was all about, and needless to say the boys loved it.
It was our turn to greet at church on Sunday, so we got the boys all dressed up. Harry wore a pink shirt under his blazer. Pink happens to be Papa's favorite color, and one he wears often. Come to find out, Papa and Sawyer also wore pink on Sunday! ;)
we spend our afternoon relaxing, watching Frozen and Nascar and playing together. Apparently I make a pretty good bed...at least Bentley thinks so!
We kicked of our Monday this morning with a field trip for Bentley and a day with Jackson. Its 825 pm, and I am seriously contemplating bedtime. :)
Hope everyone had a good weekend and has a wonderful week as well. xo

Friends!
This is my FIVE HUNDREDTH blogpost and I've decided {spur of the moment} to give away one of my favorite hooded towel that I make! :) I know my blog is private, but I just wanted to say thanks to those who follow, read and continue to encourage us and pray for us! We appreciate you all more than you know!

Just leave me a comment with your favorite bible verse -- favorite of all time, favorite of the week, month or year...any favorite is fine with me.
I will randomly select a winner {im not that technological so I will probably put numbers in a hat and have one of my boys draw. seriously, stop laughing} next week Friday, the 28th. Whoever has left the comment of the number drawn will be our winner! :)

Here are the towels:
{you can choose from either one}

if you want to spread the word and know anyone that knows us that might want to enter, please have them email me so I can add them to our reading list. kelseyposma@gmail.com

{22} months \\hlp//

Harrison Lee -
Hard to believe your second birthday is just around the corner. Sometimes I feel like we just brought you home yesterday yet most days I cant remember what life was like before you joined us.
You add so much fun and noise to our lives these days. You are a parrot-like repeat of every single thing your big brother does. You repeat his words, his actions, what he plays with and what he wears and eats. Its super adorable to watch you copy him.
You talk in full sentences. We can understand almost everything you say now a days, though you add new words to your vocabulary daily. You have some words that you pronounce pretty uniquely, such as snowmobile (beet-da-beel), which is my favorite. You also love to ask why and answer because when we talk to you and say "carry you" when you want to be carried.
You are a big eater, but not as big of a sleeper as your brother was at this age. Any food, at any time is fair game in your book. You take about a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoons and sleep about 12 hours at night. You are cutting your eye teeth top and bottom now though, so some days we get no naps and some nights we get little sleep. Its a good thing you're cute! ;)
You love Mickey Mouse, Thomas, and of course tractors and trucks. You also love to be outside and do anything you can with Daddy, even if it's just ride around. You don't like school days because that means your brother is gone and you aimlessly wander the house waiting for him to come back. Its pretty adorable.
We are so blessed by you, sweet boy. We can't wait to see what the next few months hold until the big two year birthday -- and what the Lord has in store for you for the next year of your little life! We love you to the moon and back sweet boy! xo

{your perfected pout face. the cutest ever.}

{always happiest when on a tractor!}

{{weekend/rewind}}

We had a randomly busy week this week, so we were excited to see Friday and three blank days in a row on our calendar! :)

We spent our friday morning with Sawyer, playing, relaxing and watching Toy Story 2.
When my lap is full, my heart is full. I just can't get enough of these sweet boys!
We relaxed Friday night, ordered chinese take out and played together.
Bentley is super into playing pretend, and often chooses to be Bullseye, a horse.

Harry took full advantage and hitched a ride!
Giddyup!!!
Saturday we bundled up and headed to the St. Patricks Day parade downtown with Sarah, Preston and Hunter. All the boys picked their seats right here on the curb and sat like little dolls the whole time. They enjoyed all the candy, necklaces, balloons and irish flags they were handed by parade participants.
I wanted a pic with my little loves, but Harry refused to get up from his perch on the curb and Bentley was too busy pretending to be a bear, so this is what I got.
I knew someday they would get over being on my lap and smiling for pics, I guess I just never expected it to happen at almost 4 and almost 2 years old. {insert sad face here}
We took short naps and got ready to have some friends over to grill out.
The boys love all their "uncles"...especially when they all play rough together.
Uncle Knappy and Uncle "Zubey" sure got some good leg workouts in.

We skipped church Sunday bc the boys slept in. Terrible excuse I know! We relaxed and played all day and waited for the nascar race to finally get underway.

We have a busy week tomorrow kicking off with our first of the next five Mondays with Jackson Nykerk. He's one busy boy!! :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a wonderful week to come! xo

{k posma designs}

Friends, its taken me quite some time to create this post. Only because I am not a fan of people who "self sell"...especially on facebook.
That being said, I like to say I am not self selling, but rather sharing that I am finding a true love for sewing, and that if I can help you with projects and gifts, I would absolutely love it! :) sound good?

Here are some of what I've been up to lately.

I also have quite a few new listings for hooded towels I've been whipping up listed on my Etsy site.
etsy.com/shop/bkposma

i have had a few friends "order" some things off of what I have posted on instagram...and by no means am I going to inventory who orders what. But I just wanted to share...hoping maybe we can be of some help to each other! :)

thanks friends! love you all much!

{{weekend/rewind}}

Another fun and family weekend is in the books! We are dying for spring, though.

Friday night I did some last minute sewing projects and let Bentley stay up late with me watching tv and sharing popcorn. I love our special times together!
Saturday morning I got up early and headed to church to sell at the Mom2Mom sale. So much baby stuff in one place!!
Saturday night, Brandon and I headed out for an engagement party for Heidi and Andrew. We enjoyed a few drinks and some appetizers at New Holland.
Then we headed up to City Vu for dinner.
I had the handsomest date in town! ;)
Sunday we slept in, relaxed, and mastered the art of scaling the fridge.
I swear these boys never ever give me one second to relax! oy!
We have a quite but fun week ahead, and are looking forward to catching up with some friends and hitting the aquatic center!!!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekends too and have a wonderful week ahead!

three {and a half} years old :: bentley ivan.

Sweet G-
Time continues to fly. And you continue to become quite a special young man. We are loving watching you grow, learn, change and mature - physically and spiritually.

You are kind hearted and loud, affectionate and bossy. You wear your emotions "on your sleeve," as the saying goes. And you never miss a chance to voice your thoughts or opinions. {This comes from me, my love. You will learn it has its benefits and its drawbacks, but its what makes you, you - so never change it!}

You still love everything boy. Trucks, tractors, cranes, dirt, dozers, diggers...and you know them all by their proper names. I have no doubt you will do what Daddy does someday.

You are also starting to really play with your imagination. You like to pretend that you are an airplane, firetruck, tractor...among other things - and get so involved you often dont answer to your own name. You also like to play pretend with your brother...making up jobsites and pulling each other out from being "stuck in the mud."

You are doing wonderful in school. You are social, sweet and listen very well to Mrs. Walters. Only one time so far this year have I gotten a "tough day" report. You also love and do well in Sunday School. You love to take your turn to pray at dinner, starting off by "Father God," usually praying for all your toys and loaders, and ending with "please hear our prayers, Jesus." It is super sweet and you melt us each time you pray. We couldn't be more proud.

You have an insatiable love for Daddy, me, and Harry. You will randomly stop what you are doing to dole out kisses and hugs, and often get out of bed after we put you down just to give "one more kiss, mom!" Again, we love it, and can't get enough.

Sometimes you struggle with sharing and keeping your hands to yourself, but they are things we have been working hard on and you are dealing with them like a pro.

You are a quick learner, my love. Don't ever be intimidated to try something new - I have no reason to believe you can't pick up anything you try with the smarts and persistence you have.

Continue to smile and love the way you do with your three and a half year old heart. It will never fail you. Keep the confidence you also employ. We couldn't be more proud of you and can't wait to see where the next six months bring you! We love you to the moon and back!!

xo, Daddy, Mommy & Harrison

{{weekend/rewind}}

we had a fun filled weekend of friends!

Friday night we spent some time with the Sluiters, enjoying pizza, playing and chatting.
Given that they are our neighbors, we sure don't get together enough!
This summer, we will work on that! ;)
Thanks for a fun night, Sluiter Nation!
Saturday we slept in, played outside and then headed to Kaindl's for some deep fried food and more fun with friend!
We had quite the spread of yummy fatness ;)
The kids had a blast - we had 7 kids, 4 and under.
it makes for a noisy and busy night - but so much fun!
Poor Harry is cutting some teeth that are just giving him the worst time.
He didn't miss a chance to milk some snuggles from Auntie Jenn!
Bentley found himself a horse...er, giraffe. ;)
Uncle Knappy is such a good sport!
We slept in Sunday after our busy night, and went to the late church service.
We came home, had lunch together and all enjoyed a huge afternoon nap!
Just what Sundays are for:: worship & relaxation!

I made some soup from scratch for dinner and we just spent time together.
Including some nudey painting from our eldest.
We have a busy week, mostly getting ready for the Mom2Mom sale at church this weekend. Jenna and I are weeding through our baby stuff and will be there selling - so come say hi if you come out!

Have a great monday and a great week! xo
