In the hospital, Bentley didn't seem to understand what "baby" was all about, he was more concerned about me, and all the things I was hooked up to. It wasn't until the first couple days home that we noticed him realizing this new little person was here to stay. At first, this was not a positive thing to him. He didn't take well to having to share attention and started acting out, and even hit Harrison a few times. We have really been working hard to help him understand that little brother needs lots of love and attention too and that both Daddy and I have enough to go around.
This weekend, I think it finally clicked....
Sunday morning...Harrison was laying in our bed, and Bentley climbed up, on his own, to join him.
Sunday after his nap he came downstairs and asked for baby, and proceeded to lay by him on the couch.
He is starting to give Harrison his "uh-oh" which he calls his pacifier when Harrison cries...
&& one morning this week he even asked to hold Harrison.
I know he is still going to have his days where he isn't nice, but I am thankful for the progress we have made so far! :) I can't wait till they get older and start to interact together && become best buddies. xo
