happy {{60th}} birthday mom!

Last week we celebrated my mom's birthday - 60! She is such a fun person to celebrate, because she truly deserves every bit of celebrating anyone could offer.
Tuesday we had a party at their house with friends and family. Jenna and I put everything together, and while the party wasn't a surprise, some of the guest list was.
She is so blessed to have some wonderful friends!!
Friday night we went downtown GR to celebrate with the 6 of us.
We had an incredible dinner at Leo's and shared many laughs...the best ever!
After Leo's we surprised her with a horse and carriage ride around downtown. Being that it's artprize there was so much to do and see! And we saw some gorgeous churches that we never knew existed - so fun to learn about a city so close to us that we take for granted!
This coming weekend we are off to Boyne Mountain to stay with the 6 of us and all the kids for a fun weekend. It will be the last celebration, and then her birthday month will be over! :P

SMiLE!

The boys had their first trip to the dentist this week. Bentley had been once, but he didn't remember going, and it wasn't for an actual cleaning it was more for just a peek.

They both did great with their cleanings and exams...and they were both proud to have their pictures taken to hang on the "Im cavity free!" wall. Mom was proud too! :)

First day of School 2015 {Harrison}

Harrison started school this week. He is attending threeschool, two mornings a week. He has wanted to go to school since Bentley started, so this day has been long awaited.

His teacher this year in Mrs. Borr. He is very excited to be in her classroom, and meet some new friends.
We had so much fun together exploring his classroom and meeting his new friends.
He even got to take a quick pic with his lady friend Natalie, which was pretty exciting!
In the car on the way home he expressed his excitement to go back to school later this week. Then we had this conversation:
Me: when you go back, you get to bring a stuffed friend along. Think about which one you might want to take.
Harry: I want to take nothing, mom.
Me: oh, why not?
H: Because I am a hard worker, and hard workers don't take stuffed animals to school, Mom, they take work boots.

&& to think I have 12+ years of him going to school, instead of work....
someone, please pray! ;)

First Day of School 2015 {bentley}

Bentley started young 5's this week. He will go five days a week, for a half day.
Last year, his sign said "an excavator" and this year he is broadening his horizons, to a "worker man"...I mean, that could mean anything, right? :)
He has a new classroom this year in the "big kid" part of school which he is rather excited about. His teacher is Mrs. Walters whom he had for 3school, and that was exciting too!

He has 13 kids in his class, and they are ALL boys. (please pray for Mrs Walters;)) and two of them include his friends Brady and Jae Eun from Preschool.
He has a big year of learning and growing ahead of him, and we cannot wait to watch it all take place! He is getting so good at writing, and recognizing his letters. We are so anxious to watch him grow spiritually as well!
Happy School year, buddy! We're so proud of you and we hope you shine bright for Jesus!

9 months

Sweetest Girl,
It's so hard to believe you are already nine months old, today! You continue to change and grow right before our eyes, and we continue to love each new stage as much as the last.

You are busy busy, and moving all over. Your first weeks crawling were spent tracking down things you really wanted. Since your brothers come to your every beckon call, you usually don't have to go far. But recently you have found out that crawling takes you places, and are now going every where, getting into everything!
You are eating table food now, and some treats too. You have a sweet tooth so far, and there is not anything we have given you that you won't eat. You like fruits and vegetables alike.

You cut your top two teeth in the front this month too. You also had your first double ear infection. You were not eating well,  and were very clingy, so I took you in. After 24 hours of antibiotics you were like a new girl!

You are wearing size four diapers and are in 9-12 month clothes. You love bath time, and being at the pool where you can splash in the water.
You are pulling yourself to standing on most things now, and you love to be able to look around. You are almost always smiling, giggling and starting to babble. You love the attention of your brothers the best and will even draw attention to yourself to get theirs.
You are still taking two naps, and are sleeping well at night. You are a great little sleeper for sure! You love to be outside when you can be and are always very content with most of our surroundings. This month you have showed some signs of "stranger danger" I call it. You started to cry in nursery, or when strange people hold you. You even cried at Great Grampa VandenBrinks birthday party when we walked in and you didn't seem to recognize anyone. This is different for us because your brothers would go to anyone. I think you might be a little more shy like your daddy, pretty!
and just for cute, here is an adorable video of you laughing at your brothers.
We can't wait to watch you continue to change and grow and are looking forward to celebrating your first birthday with you! :) you are just the sweetest, my love, we hope you stay so sweet forever!

Labor Day Weekend 2015

We started our holiday weekend off with a lazy day at home with Sawyer and Jett. A gloomy day allowed for some good indoor play time and some light reading; book orders! :)
these two are starting to be so much fun to watch together!
we headed outside for some dump truck races after lunch. These boys are crazy drivers!
After some naps we had a pizza party over at Kaindls. The kids had so much fun playing together, and it was great to relax and have some adult conversation. Bentley and "his princess" couldn't miss out on a quick photo op!
We had a quiet Saturday morning at home, relaxing with cousins Quinn and Foster, and packing up to spend the afternoon and evening on the boat.
Evie rocked her kini again, probably for the last time all summer! she was all smiles to be back on daddys boat! And the big boys had so much fun watching the wake as we toured along.
We spent all of sunday at home preparing for Bentley's birthday and spent the evening celebrating it at Anchorage with friends.
We slept in on Monday morning and then headed on the boat after the rain passed.
We anchored and swam...Bentley always loves being with his princess' so he was happy to spend his birthday with them too!
Harrison took a short nap on the boat, it was a busy weekend of helping his best friend and brother celebrate turning FIVE!
We headed back to the dock just before dinner and came home to eat, shower and head to bed early.
Next week we start school, so we are working on a more rigid routine. Cheers to an awesome summer, it was super fun and one for the record books for sure! :)

Bentley's 5th Birthday!

bentley decided he wanted to have a pirate birthday party this year, at the marina. I found some printable invites on Pinterest, and let him address them, since he was going to be 5 I thought it was time! :) So precious seeing his handwriting, and his guests loved it too!
We had dinner at the clubhouse with my family before friends joined us for cake. Bentley got some great gifts, including a new backpack and lunchbox, and a coat for school!

It was a perfect evening to enjoy cake and play, while celebrating our Birthday Boy! He took the pirate role real seriously and even kept an "arghh" face on most of the night!
Everyone had so much fun with the eye patches and playing pirates! :) Even Jett rocked one for a second!

Captain Bentley with his Papa matey and his cousin mateys!
Evelyn even had fun with her big pirate captain brother.
Another hand crafted cake...pretty much a pinterest fail, but he was excited about it anyway!
So hard to believe another year has passed and we have a FIVE year old. We are so thankful for him and cannot wait to see what his future holds! :)
