the most wonderful time of the year

i love christmas. i dont know why, i always have...and probably always will.
but for some reason, the day after thanksgiving I hit full Christmas mode and don't look back once.

so that's pretty much what happened here this week!
Monday we recovered from the long weekend up north with big naps and lots of laundry. Until dinner Monday night...when Bentley started vomiting for the next 12 hours.
This obviously threw a wrench in my Tuesday...so we decided to decorate for Christmas since we were stuck indoors anyway.
my favorite decoration is quickly becoming the nativity scene that my Grandma passed down to me this year. I let Bentley help me put all the figures in place this year and he had fun with it. He loves all the "horseys" and he thinks everything is a baby because Jesus is a baby. Too cute!
It didn't take long for the stable to turn into a parking garage for all his trucks though. :)
Wednesday night brought us better appetites, and spirits, and even enough energy to dress himself....or undress, i guess :)
&& Thursday brought more Christmas crafting! :)
today i downloaded and printed an advent calendar. we have some catching up to do but Im really looking forward to starting this tradition with the boys. :)

Thanksgiving Weekend

This year we spent Thanksgiving with B's family, up north. The past couple years we have done turkey day with both families, but now with two kids, its just too much running. And too much to eat! :) So this year we decided to take advantage of the long weekend and spend some time up north.
we had way too much to eat, as we always do, and the boys had fun relaxing and watching some iPad together.
Though this picture shows otherwise, Bentley (& Harrison) both slept very little, the entire weekend. There was just something about knowing that Nana and Papa (and all their spoils) were in the same house that made for short naps, lots of bedtime struggles, and early wake ups.
Just like Papa said, that's the best part of being up north - staying up late! ;)

thats some true up north fashion, right there, my friends :)
watching it snow. he was so excited!
bentley loved being able to run run run outside, despite the fact that it wasn't very warm.
he is my little outdoorsman.
we also helped Nana get the house ready for Christmas. It was so fun to get out some of her old ornaments....
i loved this one of B when he was almost a year old. We showed Bentley and asked him who it was and he said "howie." he thinks every baby is Harrison. Silly guy.
Bentley loved hanging the ornaments on the tree, with Nana's help only, though. I think he hung a total of two himself, and when it was all done, he stepped back, threw his arms up and said "I DID IT!!" He sure wasn't shy about taking all the credit ;)
It was such a fun weekend as a family, celebrating all the many things we have to be thankful for. We are truly blessed.

OneYearAgo..

Exactly one year ago today I posted the exciting news that Baby Posma #2 was going to be joining our family.

This year, we are beyond blessed and thankful, again, to be able to share the same exciting news!!
That's right, Baby Posma #3 is due to arrive in late June of 2013. :)
We are very excited [and a little nervous] to see God's plan for our growing family, since it's been a bit different than ours. But we trust in Him knowing that he will not give us anymore than we can handle!!

We hope that everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving holiday tomrrow and is able to spend some quality time with loved ones.

We have so much to be thankful for, tomorrow and always. We serve a wonderfully mighty God!

Harrison ::6months::

Harrison Lee -
You have blessed our family with six months of life, already. It hardly seems like that long, then again it feels like you have been with us forever.
I should have started this post about 2 weeks ago, and finished it today, because you have changed dramatically in the last few weeks. You are ridding yourself of anything baby little by little. You have recently started sitting up very well on your own and are showing much less interest in being contained to your saucer. You are starting to scoot on the floor and you roll everywhere, but dont quite realize it will get you places, yet. You are also getting more and more vocal by the day. You love to squeal and laugh and you are starting to blow bubbles and laugh. This always gets your brothers attention, which you LOVE.
You, my little love, absolutely adore your big brother. Even when he picks on you (which lately has been very often.) You smile the biggest smiles ever when you see him, even wayyyy across the room. When he shows you attention you can hardly contain yourself to interact with him, you just flail and squeal in excitement. It makes me so happy, proud and full of love to see you two interact this way together.
I have been joking with Daddy lately that I am going to have to go back to work just to keep you fed. Joking, I say, but this might not be far from the truth someday soon. You are spoon fed twice a day...double the amount your brother was eating at this age, and you eat 8 ounces every 3-4 hours. This also means you are much larger than your brother. I just boxed up all your 6 month clothes are you are in 9 month and some 9-12 month. You wore an outfit to church this morning that Bentley wore in his one year pics. You are my chubba bubba and I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
You are a happy and fun loving little prince. You very rarely cry and are almost always smiling. We are looking forward to watching your personality continue to grow and see how you interact with your brother as you guys continue to grow together and become best friends. We are so thankful for you, Harry - you are such a blessing to us. :)

we love you to the moon and back
-dad, mom and bentley

Date Weekend.

This weekend turned into date weekend...for Bentley & I.
Totally impromptu and not at all the plan, but Saturday morning Harry woke up with the nasty croup Bentley has been fighting, so things changed quickly.

Friday night we all hung at home together, as planned. I did some sewing while the boys played trucks.
Saturday we relaxed at home and I snuggled up with my sick little love for one of the most epic naps in history. I just LOVE when this happens. :)
Saturday night Bentley and I got ready and headed out to dinner with some family, as planned...leaving Daddy & Harry behind to snuggle and keep recovering. Bentley LOVED the one on one time I was able to show him, and was an absolute doll the entire time in the restaurant - which is pretty uncommon these days.
After a good nights sleep Bentley and I woke up early Sunday and headed to a friends to set up for Steph's Baby Shower. He was super excited to get out of the house and again, be the center of mom's attention - well everyone's for that matter. ;)
Helping open Baby DeWilde's presents.
All wore out after all the loving from his aunt bitties. he took a 4.5 hour nap after we got home!
while the boys napped, i cleaned and purged the toy box. I am bound to kick this croup sooner than later, and well...our toy box has been busting at the seams for a while now, so it was time for a swap anyway.
Sunday afternoon left me couch ridden with a pounding headache and stuffy nose. How did I think I could get so lucky to not catch this garbage? I thought moms weren't supposed to get sick...

Praying it passes fast, since we have another busy week but so far Bentley is still on the mend and friday will be week 3. :(

is it summer yet??

HalloweeN && NovembeR

here is this past week in review.
we are thankful for a low key weekend.

tuesday:
snowman pizza lunch date, to welcome to cold weather.
wednesday:
trick or treating by great gramma.
we stayed home and handed out candy.

it was too cold. im a wuss.
and bentley had just as much fun handing out candy, if not more.
thursday night:
bentley and i didn't sleep. we sat in the steamy bathroom most of the night,
trying to control this poor boys barky cough.
friday:
we took bentley to the doctor and then snuggled.

my poor sick little prince.
he is still a doll, even when he feels like garbage.
its saturday, and we are relaxing at home, again.
bentley is slowly getting better.
next week is a new week, and we are looking forward to it! :)
