This past weekend I spent the weekend away, from all three of my guys, for the first time ever. I was pretty excited to get away, I knew it would be good for all of us, but then again I knew I was going to miss them SO much! I left first thing friday morning {they were already gone to work with Dad} and left them this note. Harrison didn't even cry when they left, which is pretty rare for him so I wanted to make sure they didn't forget about me! ;)
We boarded the bus at 8 am and headed north to Sault Ste. Marie, in the U.P.
My roomie and I! :)
Obvi we had to cross the Might Mac -- been a few years since I've done that, it was quite a view from a big greyhound bus!
We arrived Friday night just in time to get ready for the Easton Corbin concert. The three of us had pre-ordered tickets and were excited for a great show!
We didn't stay in our seats long, we ended up sneaking in front of the front row and standing stage side the entire concert.
It was a great show, especially this close!!!!
We ran into some of the band members at the casino bar after the concert, too!
Saturday we slept in {i totes forgot how amazing NOT having to run on a kids' schedule is!}
then we gambled for a little while. I was having some pretty good luck on the penny slots on Friday and Saturday!
we headed to a local bar in the Soo in the afternoon, by the busload.
We had a great time dancing to an awesome local band!
We headed back to the casino hotel and had dinner and got ready for another night out! :) And then we encountered this woman and her {hair}. if you can call it that.
She told us she styles it like this every.single.day and she even let me touch it! It didn't move even a millimeter. It was hard as a rock. Her and her adorable husband soon took to the dance floor to show of their dancing skills- come to find out they owned a local ballroom dancing studio! So much fun to watch them!!
Sunday we got up and got ready to head home. We had some minor bus trouble, but weren't delayed real long. My boys came and picked up from the location in Ravenna where we boarded the bus. I could hardly wait to see them!
It was so refreshing to have a girls weekend away, but I sure did miss my guys! Thank goodness this trip only happens once a year!
{{big shout out to my prince charming, who handled his first weekend with the guys, all alone, flawlessly. Things went so well in fact, after being gone alllll weekend and waking Harrison up Monday morning, he looked up at me from his crib and said, "where did Daddy go?" You are THE best babe! Thanks again!}}
