6 Month Checkup

We visited Bentley's pediatrician last night for his 6 month checkup.
Here are his new stats:

Weight: 18 pounds, 10 ounces (50th percentile)
Height: 27'' tall (50th percentile)

He is right on track developmentally and doctor said "he is a very good looking and super healthy little guy."
We couldn't be more proud! :)

:::winding:::down:::

Sadly, our days in the warm weather are almost over.

We have had a ton of fun and are so thankful we were able to spend some much needed time with both sets of grandparents. We sure are blessed to have such great gramma's and grampa's that just love our boy to pieces!

Here are a few more pics of our last little while here...

Grammy && Bentley get messy eating breakfast...
Grammy mohawaked my hair (all three of them! haha) with a little spit shine and her fingers. Auntie Nenna is gonna have to get me some gel so Grammy quits spitting on me.
There are Polo grounds here, so we went and watched part of a Polo match today. We couldn't hear the announcer and it we didn't understand the game, but it was fun to watch! What a talent those guys have!
Tired after the polo match...

"I just look at Grammy && I laugh. She's crazy!"
We had to get one last swim in before we head back to the cold. :)

We are very excited to get home and see Daddy...we aren't sure if we miss him the most, or he misses us the most. Either way it will be great to be together again!

:::lifeisgood:::

We have been having busy, fun days here at Gramma and Grandpas.

Doesn't life look rough for our little guy?
Tuckered out after a little shopping and lunch...
Happy to be swimming! He just loves the pool!
Napping after a big swim. So precious.

We are having lots of fun but are anxious to get home and see Daddy. We are missin him lots and lots.

::FunInTheSun::

Thought we would share some pictures of our fun times in Florida! :)

We are really enjoying sitting and playing outside in the warm weather.
Goin for a cart ride with Grampa!
Swimming in the pool!
Playin in the shade
 Swimming with Grammy!
We went down to the square last night to go for a walk and grab some dinner. Bentley was the talk of the town with his sunglasses on. :)
Grammy thought I should try a pickle at lunchtime...
 Not a fan...

Bentley has been taking great naps here. The sun and fun must be wearing him out! :)

I got very sunburned yesterday but it felt great! I can't wait to get back out in then sun today.

We hope to post more pictures again soon!!!

Hello from Sunny Florida!

It feels so good to be in the warm and sunshine and not have to be all bundled up! :)

Needless to say, Nana & Papa were sooooo excited to see Bentley. They picked us up from the airport and then we hit Five Guys Burgers and Fries on the way home. Here are a few pictures of our wayyyy too short of time there:

Hanging out with Papa in my new shades!
All smiles for Nana!
We love being able to eat breakfast outside in the morning, even if we do need our sunglasses on! ;)
Sunday morning after breakfast, Papa had to take Bentley for a tour of the neighborhood, and show the neighbors, Bentley. Of course, he couldn't just push the stroller.... :)
Nana & Papa took us to the pool yesterday afternoon. Bentley has never been swimming before, but he loves the bathtub so we figured he would love the pool.
We were right - he had a blast.
He laughed and laughed as Papa jumped up and down in the water with him. Something about splashing is just too funny!
Testing out Papa's Kid Rock hat.
We are at Gramma & Grampas now, we have already been swimming (twice), went for a cart ride with grandpa and played and played. Bentley is really enjoying all the love and kisses from both his Gramma's that he has been getting over the last few days. I think it's safe to say that Ms. Vickie is going to have her hands full with him when we come home next week. :)

We will try to post again soon!

Saturday night, Brandon thought it would be fun to put Bentley's Power Wheel Quad together for him so he could try it out.
I'm sure I don't have to say this next sentence but: HE LOVED IT! :)
Again, he proves, he is his father's boy!!

All smiles...
Riding around the house with Dad
He will be tearing up the carpet in no time, we are sure. :)

Bentley's First Parade!

Saturday there was a St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown Holland. Sarah had invited us to go with her and Preston and Hunter. It was a bit chilly, but we bundled up and had a great time.

Bentley fell asleep on the way there but woke up when the parade started. He had a great time and smiled pretty much the whole time at everyone that walked by!
With our friends, Sarah, Hunter & Preston
We even made the paper! :)

We are getting together Monday night to make St. Patty's Day shirts for the boys. Stay tuned for more pictures!

Flasback Friday

6 months ago this week, we met our precious little bundle for the first time.
6 months ago, today, was our first full day home as a family.
When I look back, that seems like FOREVER ago...but it really wasnt.
I had to dig out up some pictures to reminisce about that day & weekend...
this was routine every day when daddy got home from work...

The first few days at home seem a bit blurry, looking back. Maybe it was the lack of sleep. Either way I don't recall doing much more than feeding him, changing him, watching him sleep (like, sitting next to his swing, or standing over his crib and really watching him sleep), holding him whenever we could, and telling him he was Bentley Ivan: the most beautiful baby we had ever seen.
The next day, when Bentley was 5 days old, we packed up and drove up to Silver Lake and spent the night, camping with Nana & Papa Posma. Not many little ones can say they had their first camping trip at 5 days old. :) This is about the only picture I have from the whole weekend, but it's one of my favorite pictures ever!

It's so fun to look back at how far he has come. We can't wait to see what else the future holds.

Happy Friday!!

Dad says...

Someone printed my shirt wrong...

instead of "HUNK" it should say "CHUNK"

Silly daddy! :)

We didn't do much of anything last night, Mom let me play in the bathtub for a while.
See my cool fountain? It's my favorite bath toy!

One more thing, before I go.

Happy Birthday to the greatest Great Grandma!!!!!!
I hope you have the best birthday ever, Great Gram and I can't wait to take you out for a dinner date when you get back home! Love you!!

xoxo, Bentley

"just be patient"

Our happy baby boy is back!

I picked him us from Ms. Vickie's last night and he was squealing and smiling at me. :)
I knew he had to have been feeling better because he's been pretty stingy with his smiles.

He went to bed without a fuss last night, even woke up in the middle of the night to eat. He is starved, ya know, so he must hurry and catch up from the all the eating he has missed the last few days!

We did take him to the doctor on Tuesday night to make sure he didn't have an ear infection and to make sure that his cough hadn't settled in his chest. Everything checked out good, so we were thankful for that.

He now weighs 17 pounds and 5 ounces :: the 75th percentile for weight for his age.
He is 27'' long :: the 65th percentile for height for his age.
His head circumference is in the 50th percentile.
This means he is pretty much perfect :: but we already knew that! :)

I will admit, I was super bummed with the doctor couldn't find anything wrong.
I wanted an ailment to associate his sleeplessness with. No such luck. In fact, the doctor's exact words were "just be patient..he doesn't feel good, and you don't sleep or eat well when you don't feel good either." He was right.
We got out in the parking lot and Brandon says "Did you hear what the dr. said, babe?". Yes, I had heard him, all too clearly.
"BE PATIENT."
Pretty sure the big guy upstairs is really trying to get his point across...

I continue to work on this...and pray asking for help. If anyone out there has any extra patience they want to send my way, I will gladly take them! :)

Only two more days till the weekend!

Love, BK&&B

::6months::

You are 6 months old today, sweet boy!
What a wonderful and eventful six months it has been with you! You are the greatest blessing to Mommy and Daddy and your little smile just melts our hearts. We love you to pieces and can't wait to see what God has in store for you and our family as you continue to grow.

Eating:
You eat baby food three times a day and have a 6-7 ounce bottle in between. You have quite a large appetite for such a little guy. Your favorite foods are sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, bananas and prunes. You also love applesauce.

Clothes:
You are wearing 6 month clothes right now, but you have been for about a month already. It's about time to go shopping and get you some nine month outfits.

Sleeping:
You take 2 naps during the day, for about 1.5-2 hours each and you sleep about 10 hours at night. Other than this teething episode we are going through, you have been a great sleeper for daddy and I and we love that.

Playing:
You love to play on your belly with your trucks and toys. You are starting to sit up a little bit, but excite yourself and lose your balance. Pretty quick you should be sitting up on your own. You also love your exersaucer. You like to jump and bounce and squeal in it. Your all time favorite playtime though is to play with Daddy. That is when you smile the biggest, and laugh the loudest.

We love you to the moon and back, Bentley Ivan.

Love, Daddy & Mommy.
